Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform surface preparation and finishing on prototype automotive components and vehicles to meet high-quality and customer-specific requirements.
• Work with a variety of materials, coatings, and substrates to support prototype and show-vehicle builds.
• Maintain strict attention to detail and adherence to procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality paint and finish results.
• Read and interpret hazard labels, technical instructions, and safety documentation.
• Accurately distinguish colors, shades, and finishes to meet appearance and quality standards.
• Read, understand, and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and shop procedures.
• Operate industrial pneumatic equipment including openers, crushers, and mixers.
• Safely operate manual and power tools such as drills, hammers, screwdrivers, ratchets, and wrenches.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the autobody and/or automotive paint field.
• Ownership of personal tools and a rolling, lockable toolbox.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail required for Auto Body & Paint Technician work.
• Willingness to travel between buildings or work areas as needed.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends when required.
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation and accountability.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience with gap and margin adjustment of automotive panels to show-car quality standards.
• Advanced body shop skills related to detailed panel surfacing and finishing.
• Prior show car or prototype painting experience.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced, and wet environment for 6–8 hours per day.
• Required to wear protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) daily, including coveralls, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, and hearing protection as needed.
• Regular exposure to fumes from paint, solvents, and other contaminants; use of ventilation systems and protective masks helps reduce exposure risk.
• Exposure to hazardous tools, equipment, and situations where adherence to safety procedures minimizes injury risk.
• Exposure to elevated noise levels that may require hearing protection.
• Frequent work in confined or awkward positions requiring flexibility and physical endurance.
