Description
Synergy Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to support daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced automotive environment. This role serves as the connection between production, inventory, and administrative functions by coordinating parts procurement, maintaining accurate production data, and supporting shop floor operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a manufacturing setting, and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate shipping and receiving documentation, organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable operating material-handling equipment, and able to work effectively in a busy manufacturing environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities for materials, components, equipment, and finished goods.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, staging, and documentation.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored in designated locations.
• Coordinate the movement of materials throughout the facility to support manufacturing and automation projects.
• Pick and stage materials for production, assembly, and project requirements.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts as needed.
• Identify shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies and communicate issues to the appropriate team members.
• Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, packing lists, and other required paperwork.
• Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure material needs are met.
• Assist with inventory organization and maintain a clean and organized warehouse and shipping area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly operate forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the warehouse and shipping areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material control experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with shipping documentation, packing slips, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with production and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in an automotive manufacturing, automation, or engineering environment.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience with ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems.
• Experience shipping large machinery, tooling, automation equipment, or industrial components.
• Familiarity with inventory control and material tracking systems.
• Experience reading part numbers, purchase orders, packing lists, and technical documentation.
