Position Overview:
This role is responsible for supporting the diagnosis, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic control units (ECUs) used in advanced automotive systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about vehicle diagnostics, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and is comfortable working with vehicle communication systems, scan tools, and diagnostic software. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with internal engineering teams on cutting-edge automotive technologies and product development initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and maintain diagnostic functions for vehicle ECUs used in automotive scan tools
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to support diagnostic updates and product releases
• Create and maintain service procedures for ECU replacement and initialization
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle electrical and diagnostic issues using engineering tools and service information
• Work with internal and external engineering teams to support issue resolution and product improvements
• Operate and test vehicles in garage and lab environments to observe diagnostic behavior and validate system operation
• Analyze vehicle communication data and interpret diagnostic information
• Document findings, procedures, and troubleshooting activities accurately
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to diagnostics and vehicle systems
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Equivalent hands-on automotive experience may also be considered)
• Familiarity with vehicle communication systems such as: CAN / J1850 / K-Line / Other automotive networks
• Strong interest in vehicle systems, diagnostics, and automotive technology
• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred
• Experience with vehicle diagnostic communication protocols such as: XCP / UDS / WWH-OBD / J1939
• Experience using automotive scan tools and diagnostic software
• Exposure to ECU development, validation, or calibration environments
• Automotive dealership, engineering, or testing experience
