Position Overview
The Robotics Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-disciplinary teams to plan and deliver complex robotics and automation projects—ensuring alignment with customer specifications, regulatory guidelines, and organizational objectives. This role manages all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment, with an emphasis on innovation, cost-effectiveness, and timely execution. Strong leadership, a deep understanding of robotic systems, and effective stakeholder communication are essential to success in this position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of robotics projects—from kickoff through final delivery and post-implementation support.
• Create and manage detailed project timelines, budgets, resource plans, and scope definitions.
• Track progress across milestones, deliverables, and budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Proactively identify risks, technical challenges, and roadblocks; implement solutions and mitigation plans.
• Lead resolution of project issues, scope changes, or resource constraints with internal and external partners.
• Regularly review performance indicators, quality metrics, and milestone progress to align with project goals.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, including engineering, controls, software, and manufacturing.
• Maintain effective communication across departments and with external customers, vendors, and integrators.
• Ensure compliance with safety, industry standards, and quality systems (e.g., AS9100, ITAR, DFARS where applicable).
• Support continuous improvement efforts in project delivery, process standardization, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications/Desired Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field), Business, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5–7 years of relevant project management experience; 10+ years preferred, ideally within automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Experience working with mobile robotics platforms such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) or Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).
• Understanding of robotic integration, including motion control, sensors, safety systems, and collaborative robot applications.
• Familiarity with industrial automation systems like MES and SCADA, and their role in robotics operations.
• Background in regulated industries such as aerospace or defense manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Experience with compliance standards like AS9100, ITAR, and DFARS.
• Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex technical projects.
• Strong decision-making, organization, and leadership skills in high-paced technical environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of translating complex technical details into actionable plans.
• Adaptable, proactive, and self-driven work ethic.
• Understanding of assembly tooling, precision manufacturing, and factory floor dynamics is a plus.
