Description
Seeking a sharp, dependable Automotive Body & Paint Shop Supervisor to lead and support business functions. The Automotive Body & Paint Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the body and paint shop, ensuring all work meets Roush quality standards, project timelines, and budget requirements. This role provides leadership to shop team members while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. The supervisor will collaborate with customers, internal departments, and management to ensure successful program execution.
Note: Candidates must possess strong computer proficiency and demonstrated leadership skills to be successful in this role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of body and paint shop team members.
• Lead, mentor, and train employees by setting goals, providing guidance, and conducting performance feedback.
• Communicate effectively with customers to resolve issues and ensure program timing, budget, and quality standards are achieved.
• Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, safety incidents, and emergency situations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to optimize resources and workflow.
• Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of shop equipment.
• Maintain shop organization and cleanliness in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
• Monitor project budgets for labor hours and materials to ensure efficiency and cost control.
• Enforce company policies and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive body and paint.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience, either formal or informal.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive body repair and paint processes.
• Ability to operate and oversee the use of shop equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and train team members.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certificate in Automotive Body Repair or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Work is performed primarily in an automotive body and paint shop environment.
• Exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures may occur.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as required.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
