Position Overview
The Order Picker/Selector is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting, preparing, and staging orders for shipment or delivery. This role plays a critical part in maintaining workflow, inventory accuracy, and timely customer fulfillment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Review and interpret order instructions to identify required products and quantities for fulfillment.
• Select and retrieve items from shelves, racks, or storage areas using barcodes, serial numbers, RF scanners, or voice-pick systems.
• Verify item accuracy and quality to ensure all picked products match order specifications and are free of damage or defects.
• Securely package items by shrink-wrapping, boxing, or bagging materials for safe handling and transport.
• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or reach trucks in compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Stage and load completed orders onto delivery trucks or designated areas to maintain timely outbound logistics.
• Update inventory systems and documentation in real-time to reflect accurate stock levels and order completion.
• Monitor and replenish low stock areas to ensure consistent item availability and support smooth warehouse operations.
• Support general warehouse operations, including receiving shipments, organizing storage spaces, and participating in routine cycle counts or audits.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications/Desired Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or order fulfillment is a plus
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 15 lbs. regularly
• Basic computer or scanner proficiency for inventory tracking
• Attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed.
