Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated HSE Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental programs within our high-volume manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while fostering a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance. The HSE Manager will work collaboratively across departments to implement policies, training, and systems that promote a safe and sustainable work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive HSE programs in alignment with OSHA, EPA, and company standards
• Lead facility-wide risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action plans
• Maintain and audit all environmental, health, and safety compliance records, permits, and documentation
• Conduct safety inspections, behavioral observations, and hazard analyses to ensure workplace safety and process integrity
• Champion a safety-first culture through training, employee engagement, and leadership visibility
• Manage compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, including reporting and permit renewals
• Lead emergency preparedness planning and coordinate drills for fire, spill response, and evacuation procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to integrate safety into new equipment and process designs
• Analyze trends in incidents, near misses, and leading indicators to drive targeted improvements
• Ensure contractors and third-party vendors comply with all site-specific safety requirements
• Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs for new hires, leadership, and specialized roles
• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure all site inspections are handled professionally and successfully
• Track and report key HSE metrics to senior leadership and contribute to annual strategic planning

Qualifications/Desired Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 5+ years of HSE experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems preferred.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated success in driving HSE culture change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency in incident investigation methods such as 5-Why, Root Cause Analysis, or Taproot.
• Familiarity with safety data management systems (e.g., EHS software, SDS platforms).
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHMM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish) are beneficial for diverse workforces.
• Must be able to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments
• Ability to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes.
• Occasional lifting, standing, walking, or climbing ladders as needed for inspections or audits.
