Synergy Solutions is hiring a dependable Pattern Maker for trade assignments with leading employers. Position Overview:
The Pattern Maker constructs master models used to produce prototype and production metal and injection molded parts. This role is responsible for creating precision master patterns, core boxes, composite tooling, and specialty builds using both traditional craftsmanship and VISI CAD/CAM software. Projects range from rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacturing to high-end display models and advanced tooling applications.
Schedule:
• Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Overtime and weekend work expected, up to approximately 55 hours per week
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to develop accurate tooling and model geometries
• Utilize VISI Modeling software to create precision automotive and aerospace components
• Generate advanced 3-axis and 5-axis CNC toolpaths within the VISI CAM environment
• Build prototype models and bridge tooling for low-volume manufacturing applications
• Construct master models, core boxes, and specialty tooling for stamping and injection mold operations
• Create composite layup tooling and master models for plastic laminating applications
• Develop aluminum or resin tooling for vacuum forming operations, including vent hole strategy
• Integrate 3D printed components into traditional tooling and prototype builds
• Construct high-finish display models for trade shows, customer reviews, and executive presentations
• Safely operate mill room equipment including: Band saws / Table saws / Drill presses / Sanders
o Additional woodworking and toolroom equipment
• Prepare raw materials and refine finished patterns to precise tolerances
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Completion of a Patternmaking Apprenticeship or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive or aerospace manufacturing environments
• Strong experience supporting prototype-to-production builds
• Proven experience with: Vacuum forming / Composite layups / Laminating resins / Thermoforming plastics
• Ability to work to tolerances of +/- .005” or better
• Basic blueprint reading skills
• Basic GD&T understanding
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Must provide a toolbox with tools required to perform the job
Preferred Skills
• Experience with VISI CAD/CAM software
• CNC machining and programming knowledge
• Experience with additive manufacturing integration and prototype tooling
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
