Description
Synergy Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Tool Builder – Sub Assemblies to support daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced automotive environment. This role serves as the connection between production, inventory, and administrative functions by coordinating parts procurement, maintaining accurate production data, and supporting shop floor operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a manufacturing setting, and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview:
This role focuses heavily on mechanical sub-assemblies, including fitting, assembling, adjusting, and verifying components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on machine-building experience, and the ability to work accurately with precision tools and equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Build and assemble mechanical sub-assemblies used in automation tooling and equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Lay out and assemble machine components according to engineering and customer requirements.
• Fit, align, adjust, and assemble tooling components to ensure proper operation and functionality.
• Install components using bolts, pins, clamps, screws, rivets, and other mechanical fastening methods.
• Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Set up and operate equipment and machinery as required to complete machine-building and assembly activities.
• Inspect completed sub-assemblies and identify mechanical issues, fitment concerns, or dimensional discrepancies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and recommend or perform necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Work closely with engineering, fabrication, assembly, and other production teams to resolve build issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following established safety procedures.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment as required.
• Support equipment installation, testing, and final verification to ensure customer specifications are met.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of machine builder, tool builder, mechanical assembler, or related manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience building mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and make appropriate adjustments.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and overhead crane.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
• Experience building automation equipment or tooling.
• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience with prototype or low-volume manufacturing.
• Familiarity with mechanical standards and tooling assembly practices.
• Experience working from customer-specific engineering specifications.
