Position Overview:
This role is responsible for the design, development, validation, and troubleshooting of low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) electrical systems and wire harnesses. The Electrical Engineer II will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and customers to develop robust electrical architectures, optimize wire harness packaging, support vehicle builds, and validate electrical system performance. The ideal candidate has experience with vehicle electrical systems, wire harness design, CAN communication, and electrical diagnostics in a fast-paced product development environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and develop vehicle electrical systems and wiring solutions based on customer and program requirements
• Develop wire harness topology, partitioning, packaging, and retention strategies
• Create and release electrical schematics and wire harness drawings using: Mentor Graphics / Zuken E3 / similar EDS software
• Maintain electrical component packaging within a 3D CAD environment
• Participate in design reviews with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
• Support electrical compatibility reviews and wire harness design approvals
• Develop and maintain: Bill of Materials (BOM) / DFMEA / DVP / supporting engineering documentation
• Support wire harness builds, vehicle builds, prototype development, and validation testing
• Collaborate with program teams, CAE engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing throughout product development
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems using: CAN tools / Digital Volt Meter (DVM) / Oscilloscope / diagnostic equipment
• Support module configuration, software flashing, and electrical system validation
• Develop and execute electrical circuit functionality tests
• Perform first article inspections and verify supplier-built assemblies meet engineering specifications
• Document root cause analysis and support corrective actions for electrical issues

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in: Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology / related engineering discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle electrical engineering or electrical system development
• U.S. Citizen
• Experience designing electrical systems using industry standards
• Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuits, and electronic systems
• Experience operating: Oscilloscope / Digital Volt Meter (DVM) / electrical test equipment
• Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of: SAE J1292 / IPC-A-620 / USCAR 21 standards
• Experience using: Mentor Graphics / Zuken E3 / AutoCAD
• Experience with: CAN communication / module configuration / ECU flashing / DBC file creation / diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) / vehicle data logging
• Experience developing: Topology block diagrams / circuit protection / grounding strategies / harness partitioning / DFMEA / DVP
• Military or defense industry experience

• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems at the component and vehicle level
