Description
Synergy Solutions is hiring a dependable Die Setter for trade assignments with leading employers. Position Overview:
This role is responsible for the setup, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of stamping dies to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The ideal candidate has experience working with progressive dies, overhead cranes, and forklifts, along with a strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Set up, install, and change over stamping dies according to production schedules and work instructions.
• Properly align and adjust dies to ensure quality production and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts (Hi-Lo), and other material handling equipment to safely transport and position dies.
• Verify proper die setup prior to production startup and make adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot die setup, press operation, and tooling issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on dies and tooling.
• Work closely with Press Operators, Tool & Die personnel, Maintenance, and Production Supervisors to support production goals.
• Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, tooling specifications, and work instructions.
• Ensure all production and quality standards are met while maintaining efficient press operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following 5S principles.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive stamping or metal forming.
• Previous experience as a Die Setter in a production stamping environment strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical education in Tool & Die, Machining, or a related skilled trade is preferred.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts (Hi-Lo); certification is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues.
• Ability to read blueprints, tooling drawings, and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, kneel, and walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials as required.
• Comfortable working around heavy machinery and moving equipment in a manufacturing environment.
