Position Overview:
This role is responsible for performing general building maintenance, troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues, supporting facility operations, and assisting with groundskeeping and shop organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.
**Candidates must have their own basic hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and related tools.**
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform general facility maintenance including: Plumbing repairs / Carpentry work / Low-voltage electrical support / Door hardware repairs / Office furniture assembly /Heating and ventilation maintenance / Routine facility inspections
• Assist with groundskeeping and general exterior upkeep
• Troubleshoot basic equipment and facility-related issues
• Perform manual labor and assist team members with maintenance projects
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns
• Communicate repair needs and project updates with leadership
• Complete shop clean-up and additional duties as assigned
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months of facilities maintenance experience or related technical training
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and general building maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and solve practical maintenance issues
• Basic math skills including fractions and measurements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills for entering data and researching repair methods
• Experience using power and hand tools
• Must provide basic hand tools (tool list provided upon hire)
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Preferred
• Forklift experience or certification
• General maintenance or industrial maintenance experience
• Automotive electrical experience
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
