Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic II to join our team in a prototype vehicle environment. In this role, you will modify cars and trucks, perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, and support a variety of hands-on engineering and development projects. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with customers and team members.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain vehicle functionality by performing inspections and working from repair orders or supervisor instructions.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical system issues; replace parts and components as needed.
• Read, interpret, and follow technical service procedures and work instructions.
• Document all services and repairs by maintaining accurate vehicle records.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment, including troubleshooting issues and performing preventive maintenance.
• Conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) in accordance with technical manuals and project requirements.
• Support prototype modifications and custom builds in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an automotive or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, maintenance tools, and specialized repair tools.
• Experience reading and executing technical procedures and service documentation.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing military vehicle platforms (wheeled and/or tracked).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must have own tools and rolling toolbox.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (ITAR compliance required).

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
• Prior military service in a wheeled or tracked vehicle mechanic role (e.g., 91B, 91H, 3521, or equivalent).
• Experience operating heavy equipment, tactical recovery vehicles, forklifts, or similar shop equipment.
• Certificate in Automotive Technology or a related field.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification(s).
• State Mechanic Certification(s).
• Experience with vehicle alignments, A/C system repair, and tire machines/balancers.
