Description
Synergy Solutions is hiring a dependable Defense Fabricator II for trade assignments with leading employers. The Fabricator II will support garage and shop service operations, complete independent fabrication projects, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to meet specifications and deadlines. This position requires strong blueprint reading skills, hands-on technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Fabricate and modify brackets and various metal components
- Weld exhaust tubes and bosses
- Operate fabrication equipment including band saws, material brakes, and material shears
- Read and interpret blueprints, rough sketches, and engineering drawings to meet customer specifications
- Perform layout work using precision measuring tools and surface plates (X, Y, Z coordinates)
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Support garage and shop services teams with fabrication needs
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of fabrication experience
- Minimum 2 years of TIG and/or MIG welding experience
- Minimum 2 years operating power brakes, shears, and bench machines
- Ability to read and execute fabrication blueprints, schematics, and welding codes
- Proficient in layout work and precision measurement (tape measure, scale, height gauge, surface plate)
- Ability to TIG and MIG weld steel, stainless steel, cast materials, and aluminum
- Advanced knowledge of fabrication equipment including:
o Plasma cutter
o Oxy-Fuel torch
o Bridgeport mill
o Lathe
o Drill press
o Material shear
o Press brake
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle lift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Welding Technology or related field
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed
