Position Overview
The individual selected for this role will work independently or under direction, operating a traveling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, solid or bulk materials using hoisting attachments, such as hook, chains or sling. Must observe load hookup and determines safety of loads.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely transport small and large materials, tooling, supplies and finished good to designated areas in the facility using overhead crane, hand truck, Hilo’s or other material handling equipment.
- Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as levers and/or buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal or signal instructions.
- Keep department and machines in department clean and free of various debris.
- Inspects daily crane hook, chains and/or sling for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Must wear Hard Hat at all times in Crane area.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Certified/licensed to use overhead hoist for loading and unloading materials from semi-trucks.
- Experience with operating overhead cranes from low to hi-bay areas. Possess a good sense of safety skills and workplace safety.
- Skills in interpersonal relations in both written and oral communications.
- Must be dependable, a self-starter and team player.
- Have a good attendance record – dependability is required.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Hilo Experience required and must pass Hilo testing (written and driving).
- Willingness to work rotating continuous seven-day work cycle.
