Position Overview:
This role is dedicated to support quality assurance operations within a wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and workmanship standards throughout the production and final inspection process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background inspecting wire harnesses and cable assemblies, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify defects and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspect wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and related products for quality, workmanship, and compliance with customer specifications
• Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections using hand tools and inspection equipment
• Verify proper wire routing, crimps, terminations, labeling, continuity, connector installation, and overall harness build quality
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring schematics, work instructions, and customer specifications
• Accurately document inspection results, quality records, and non-conforming material reports
• Accept or reject finished products based on established quality standards
• Identify defects, troubleshoot quality issues, and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
• Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product quality
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and quality standards
• Assist with audits, inspections, and additional quality-related activities as needed
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting wire harnesses and cable assemblies
• Strong understanding of harness assembly workmanship standards and quality inspection processes
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings
• Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify quality issues
• Good communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or electronics manufacturing industries
• Familiarity with quality systems, inspection documentation, and compliance standards
• Experience performing continuity testing and using electrical test equipment
