Position Overview
Material Handlers help ensure we safely and accurately transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant to our customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Load, unload, pick, put away, consolidate, stack and stage products and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or other power equipment in accordance with FIFO policy.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies according to FIFO policy.
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap, trash, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Inspect each pallet and or case for proper quantities, items brands, and lot codes (as applicable) damages and follow any special instructions on Quality Alerts and /or additional documentation.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory utilizing RF scanners.
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Prepares and loads finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, processing paperwork, loading, and securing product.
- Prepares, records, and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Conduct cycle counts and assists with physical inventory, which includes verifying accuracy of quantity of materials
- Participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines and company policies.
- Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
