Position Overview:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate movement, tracking, and staging of materials to support production operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, improving material flow, and minimizing production downtime. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Hi-Lo/forklift to move, stage, and transport materials throughout the facility (certification required).
- Perform material handling duties including loading, unloading, and staging materials for production.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Execute both physical and digital picking processes to support production schedules.
- Process work orders and track inventory using basic computer systems.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems and Excel to manage material transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Conduct material tracking, reconciliation, and cycle counting activities.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and traceability of all material transactions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve material flow to production lines.
- Support efforts to reduce downtime by ensuring materials are delivered efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams.
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or materials environment preferred.
- Valid Hi-Lo/forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, production machinery, and moderate noise levels.
