Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support our manufacturing and automation operations. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials, components, fabricated parts, and services required for the design and build of complex automated assembly systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience purchasing machined, fabricated, and engineered components while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time, meet quality requirements, and support project schedules.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Source and procure materials, fabricated components, and services to support manufacturing and project requirements.
• Solicit competitive quotations, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery.
• Expedite critical materials and proactively resolve supply chain issues that could impact production schedules.
• Review engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and technical specifications to accurately source components.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management to support project execution.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Ensure purchased materials meet quality, engineering, and customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, pricing, and inventory information within the ERP system.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier development, process improvements, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• 3+ years of purchasing or buyer experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience purchasing fabricated, machined, and engineered components.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working Knowledge Of
• CNC machining processes

• Material certifications
Experience With
• Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 or similar ERP system
• Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency)

Ability To
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and supplier records
• Analyze purchasing trends and supplier performance
• Generate reports and manage procurement documentation
