Position Overview:
The Press Operator is responsible for operating press equipment and production lines while following established processes, safety procedures, and TPM objectives. This position works as part of a team to maintain production efficiency, inspect finished parts, perform metal rework, support die changes, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate press equipment and production lines according to established processes and procedures.
• Perform machine operations and monitor equipment performance.
• Correct and troubleshoot machine faults to minimize downtime.
• Perform basic press programming and adjustments.
• Complete inside and outside die changeovers.
• Build, troubleshoot, and adjust automation tooling.
• Load and unload sheet metal blanks and coils.
• Rack finished parts according to established specifications.
• Inspect parts throughout production to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify sheet metal and aluminum defects and assist with quality concerns.
• Perform metal rework on parts as needed.
• Initiate quality improvements and assist with resolving production concerns.
• Maintain production efficiency and meet established production objectives.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities utilizing 5S and TPM processes.
• Follow all safety procedures and departmental process requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate a forklift when required and properly trained.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Complete training related to automation equipment, tooling, welding, and ERP systems.
• Perform additional duties and work assignments as directed by management.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Press operation or metal stamping experience preferred.
• General knowledge of manufacturing quality systems.
• Ability to identify sheet metal and aluminum defects.
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to learn basic press programming and automation adjustments.
• Ability to build, adjust, and troubleshoot automation tooling.
• Welding experience or willingness to learn preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow established processes, safety procedures, and work instructions.
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform activities including climbing, carrying, pulling, gripping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including 8 hours or more.
• Ability to use a telephone and computer keyboard.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment.
