Position Overview:
This role will join our engineering team and play a critical role in the development of advanced automated manufacturing systems. This position is responsible for designing and validating complete robotic turnkey manufacturing processes that support customer proposals and project development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive automation, body-in-white (BIW) systems, robotic welding processes, and manufacturing system design. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative process solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting project timelines, operational efficiency, and manufacturing excellence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and validate automated manufacturing processes based on customer requirements and technical specifications
• Design complete robotic turnkey manufacturing systems and process layouts
• Create and maintain system layouts utilizing engineering modeling and drafting software
• Interpret and apply product assembly requirements, tooling concepts, load sequences, and orientation strategies
• Develop process solutions involving: Robotic welding systems / Material handling systems / Joint fastening equipment / Manual assembly operations / Safety and ergonomic requirements
• Define equipment placement, cell layouts, utility requirements, and system dimensioning
• Collaborate with engineering, controls, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure project success
• Monitor project timelines and provide status updates and forecasts throughout proposal and development phases
• Troubleshoot engineering challenges and implement process improvements as required
• Maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate equipment procurement activities
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, customer reviews, and plant buyoff activities
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing performance and design standards

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 7+ years of experience designing automated manufacturing systems
• Strong background in automotive manufacturing automation
• Experience developing robotic production systems and manufacturing process layouts
• Knowledge of: Body-in-White (BIW) processes / MIG Welding / Spot Welding
• Understanding of manufacturing line rates, efficiencies, buffer conditions, and zone content analysis
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and GD&T principles
• Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience supporting proposal development and capital equipment quoting activities
• Experience with robotic welding and assembly systems
• Experience supporting equipment installation and customer launch activities
Technical Skills
• Experience with One or More of the Following: Siemens Process Simulate / FactoryCAD / AutoCAD / CATIA / Unigraphics (NX) / Autodesk Inventor / Fides
