Position Overview:
This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in materials management or manufacturing. The technician will be responsible for transporting products, loading and unloading delivery trucks, managing inventory, and ensuring that materials are properly stocked and available to support production.
The Material Control Technician will receive mentorship and support from team members while gaining hands-on experience in project work and customer interactions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by reading work orders or following verbal instructions.
• Operate a Power Industrial Truck (PIT), such as a forklift or pallet jack, to transport materials safely and efficiently.
• Identify, inspect, and track incoming and outgoing parts to ensure accuracy in quality, quantity, and documentation.
• Supply the build floor with material build kits to support production schedules.
• Secure loads by installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Record received products and place them in the appropriate storage locations.
• Pick and stage materials required to fulfill customer and production orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing packing dunnage and adhering to housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required Qualifications
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
• No prior experience required. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates.
Skills & Competencies
• Ability to obtain or qualify for a Power Industrial Truck (PIT) license.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Ability to read, count, and accurately record inventory data.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions and learn new processes quickly.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Understanding of good customer service principles.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
